Post cards From Mars series
I named this series of palladium prints Post Cards from Mars because the prints are small and almost the size of postcards. However, Mars is not about the planet Mars, rather, it is a metaphor for an estranged environment that appears familiar yet feels distant and unreachable.
The series explores the alienation that comes with displacement and how the coexistence of familiarity and strangeness creates a sense of emotional uneasiness. Through these images, I captured the emotional experience of inhabiting a world that is recognizable on the surface yet feels unsettling.
