I picture the mind as an endless maze, that if explored too deeply, you might find yourself trapped in the confinement of an abyss. As Nietzsche wrote, ‘And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.’ For this installation, I chose a checkered structural form to create the experience of walking through a maze but at the same time each cube acts as a cell, symbolizing the feeling of being trapped within the maze of mind. This installation was inspired by how psychological conditions can shape and alter the mind’s experience, ultimately influencing how we preserve life.
